Coach’s Code of Conduct

Coach Code of Conduct 

I agree to conduct myself within the rules and regulations that were established by the appropriate sport commissioner and The Board of Directors of MTAA. As a coach of MTAA, I agree to the following statements:

  • I will,
    • remember that winning is not everything
    • remember that we are here to teach the children to become a better athlete and person
    • remember to teach the children to have fun
    • not openly criticize another coach or player
    • reserve constructive criticism for a private/team setting
    • not use any abusive/suggestive language and/or gesture
    • not physically abuse any child
    • not use any tobacco products during a MTAA sponsored activity
    • not be under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs during a MTAA sponsored activity
    • educate myself on the rules of the game and teach the players to the best of my ability
    • emphasize good sportsmanship and respect my team mates and the opposing players
    • not jeopardize the well being of child and allow them to participate while injured
    • not allow any ineligible child to participate
    • notify the sport commissioner of any problem with a player, parent, guardian or another coach
    • follow all the rules set in place by the appropriate sport commissioner
    • not change any rules without the approval of the appropriate sport commissioner
    • participate in all practices/games set in place by the appropriate sport commissioner and/or the sponsoring league
    • contact the appropriate sport commissioner to change the schedule set in place and not make any changes unless approve by the commissioner

 

Any coach not following the above outline, will be subject to suspension as described in the Suspension Policy posted on the website.
