December Meeting

Hi everyone,

The December meeting of the association will be held on December 14th at 7PM at the Muhlenberg Rec Center on River Road.  This is the most important meeting of the year as this is the meeting at which the Board of Directors for the association is elected.  The positions open this year are President, Vice President, Treasurer, and the newly created position now being called Commissioner Coordinator.  The job description for this position includes but is not limited to making sure all clearances are up to date and also having a report for all sports at our meetings even if the sport commissioner is not present!  Also making sure budget information is in on time and kept from year to year for reference.

All at large board positions (12) are up for election every year and this year is no exception.  The qualifications to run have been sent out before. You must have attended three (3) meetings including the December meeting throughout the current calendar (2015) year.  This year may be a little different in that we have added positions to the board and some may not be filled.  So after the election meeting if there are unfilled positions they can be appointed by the newly elected board.  So if you are interested please make sure Melissa Smeltzer our current VP is notified to either include you on the ballot or to bring your name to the board following the elections so we can get you on board.

We are asking that board members to be remember there are meetings the fourth Monday of every month except when holidays come in to play.  We know there are times things come up but we need 9 members of the board including 4 Exec Board members to have a quorum.  So our point with this is that there is an expectation of attendance at these meeting because we are the governing body of the association.  We mention this because this discussion was had at the last meeting as we had an issue getting a quorum for the meeting.  These meetings should be on your schedule. If meeting attendance is not your thing PLEASE volunteer in whatever capacity is your thing but maybe you should not run for the board.  We are not turning away volunteers.  We are asking you to volunteer in a way the organization benefits and you are not stretched beyond your ability!
